XGE Silicon Stack Ethernet eliminates the traditional Ethernet bottleneck

Unlike software based protocol stack implementations that rely on performance-limiting host OS & driver implementations (such as standard Ethernet NICs and processor based “TOE” cards), XGE’s Silicon Stack offloads nearly all TCP/IP protocols (Ethernet, TCP, UDP, IP, iSCSI & RDMA) to dedicated silicon protocol engines. This Silicon Stack frees the host processor completely and, thereby, achieves wire-speed throughput, microsecond latency and rock-solid determinism. Software stack implementations (whether standard NICs or processor “TOE” cards) just can’t meet the performance, low latency and reliability requirements that are critical for demanding real-time applications.
